Football World Cup, as well as other major international sporting events, represents today a big catalyst of global attention and lends itself perfectly to serving as a catalyst of the need of indignation that currently distinguish global public opinion. This process is supported by the simultaneous strengthening of social media as new primary source of information. This is particularly noticeable on the occasion of events organized in emerging countries, as the last World Cup held in Brazil, which are observed with skepticism from the so-called advanced countries. On these occasions, mass media narrative seems to be affected by an ever overcome colonialist vision of the world, shared by producers as well from the recipients of information.
