The last of the three IPCC reports issued between 2013 and 2014 traces the story of the world's Green House Gas emissions till today and projects their evolution till the end of the century. Different and alternative futures are considered in the report: from those which lead us to an increase of more than 4°C at the end of the century to those that manage to contain this increase within reasonable boundaries. Each of the different pathways described is associated with its peculiar technological challenges, costs and possible burden-sharing among regions.
