The article is aimed at reviving the debate developed in the previous issue of Problemi dell'informazione where scholars and professionals engaged in a discussion regarding the state of contemporary journalism. The present contribution is an attempt to specifically answer the following question: What is journalism about today? In addressing such a complex issue the article introduces several cases and examples related to the current journalistic environment. A special attention is given to the debate regarding viable business models for news industry in an era of information exuberance.
