Innovative startup evaluation represents a topic of great interest and relevance both for scholars and practitioners. Traditional corporate evaluation models cannot be applied to startups given their peculiarities. Many solutions have been developed in theory, but our review of the empirical research highlights the need for a unitary conceptual framework for startup evaluation. Our paper is particularly addressed to prospective entrepreneurs and start uppers, who need to understand the potential investors’ view to bring to light the features of their projects that can attract financial resources.
