The issue of lobbying and its regulation is of interest for several reasons. First of all, the relationship between the internet and its impact on the assumption of public decisions justifies a renewed attention to the role of pressure groups. Technologies’ development creates several chances for the democratic evolution and the general enhancement of people’s liberties, also in consideration of the crisis of political representation. Secondly, in our system the principle of transparency has become fundamental for the purposes of regulating the relationship between public power and the community. Therefore it seems desirable through appropriate regulation to enhance those forms of representation of interests that, through the web, in the perspective of transparency, with the intermediation of pressure groups, can make a contribution to the formation of public decisions.
