In his Lectura Dantis on one of the most discussed Dante's verse (Inf. xxxiii 75) the Author reveals the presence of two significant and each other connected themes, as laying in the structure self of the entire episode by Dante dedicated to the Conte Ugolino. The general and fierce atmosphere due to the penalty of the anthropophagy - which involves both, count Ugolino and archbishop Ruggieri - let it emerge the question of the Ugolino's «technophagy» - towards his dead children - as a real possibility too. Commenting this troubling verse the Author traces back to the oldest glosses and examines a number of specific interpretations emerged from the past and present in the field of dantean criticism, including those ones of B. Croce, G. Contini, L. Borges.
