The aim of this article is to reflect on the implications of the reduction in industrial employment in France on the rest of the labor relations to begin with from an analysis of the factors that have the greatest impact on deindustrialization of the country. In the first part, after tracing a brief overview of the state of the industry in Europe, and after reporting the terms of the French debate on the subject, the focus is on cases which form the basis of de-industrialization in the country and particularly on the size of the industrial delocalization processes. In the second part we consider the implications that this process is having on the dynamics of territorial development, employment and working conditions, both in industry and in the services sector, and on other more explicitly social. The article concludes with some considerations on the idea of industrial work and on the tensions that currently are taking place in the economy's debate (between deindustrialization and reindustrialization), in the analysis labor market (between skilled and unskilled labour) and about the relation between employment and school education (professional training and refusal of industrial work).
