University student dropping-out of the individual faculty is crucial for the faculty organization and its finance. In this paper we analyze the case of "Sapienza" University of Rome and perform a mixed effect model in the presence of binary, endogenous selection variable. In particular we consider a nonparametric maximum likelihood approach, leaving the random effects distribution unspecified. The analysis is carried out on sixteen faculties using individual information on 117464 students enrolled in a three years university program for the 2001-2007 period. As usual dealing with individual characteristics of people and personal choices, endogeneity occurs. Our model specification takes explicity into account the endogeneity of one of the covariates.
