Risk perception is more and more a subject for research, and starts being integrated in risk assessment plans. The way people sense the risk in certain places or not, is a very important indicator of the awareness of the risk, both individually as collectively. This research wants to grasp the effects of flood risk perception in certain areas on their individual and collective flood behavior. The research is done in the Bisagno valley, and more specifically in the urbanized part of the city of Genoa. Through an online survey and a focus group, a double dataset was collected and elaborated, which resulted in cartographic visualizations of the data analysis. The aim of the research is to get a better understanding of the relation between behavior and location. And, moreover, to understand what the issues are in the Bisagno valley, considering risk awareness, information and communication.
