In this note on Luca Tommasi’s stimulating commentary I argue that a) the assessment and quality assurance procedures about universities should take into account both general, i.e. across-the-board, and specific aspects; b) the analyses of specificities should be entrusted to the scientific area of interest (in this case, psychology) since this would allow to perform a fine-detailed assessment while, at the same time, favouring the spread and acceptance of the quality assurance process; c) it is improper for academic structures and relevant associations to delegate to ANVUR some of their own responsibilities.
