This article aims to investigate the recent interest in Karl Polanyi among threeprominent figures of the contemporary critical theory: Axel Honneth, WolgangStreeck, Nancy Fraser. The critical comparison among their different actualizations ofPolanyian approach makes possible to focus on their advantages and disadvantages.Only Fraser elaborates in systematic terms some deficit within Polanyi’s theory of the“double movementµ, in order to outline an expanded critical conception of contemporarycapitalism and its specific dynamic of “triple movementµ.
