In this essay, I start with a brief overview about the correlation between law and land in Carl Schmitt’s theory of “nomosµ, clarifying how it involves the legal dimension of war. Next, I discuss the turn toward a global war, achieved by erasing the territorial spatiality of modern order. Then, I consider how cyberspace is doomed to change the nature of conflicts and what harm it’s possible to perform with an act of cyberwarfare. Finally, I inquire into the concept of pirate – as the highest expression of enmity – considering the ways in which maritime piracy evolved into cyberpiracy.
