A general decline of political and civic participation among the younger European generation has manifested more and more clearly in the past years. The lack of commitment could be balanced by new trends and channels for the improvement of young mobilization? What can be done to oppose this development? What about the relationship between political participation and social involvement? It seems that even politically interested young people show a lack of commitment in political life. The present work aims to investigate the causes of this intergenerational gap and it try to detect these causes considering both individual attitudes and contextual factors, as the institutional efficiency of European States.
