Failures in agricultural insurance always assume a competitive market on the supply side. An open question arises on the impacts of public subsidies to agricultural insurance premium in the presence of non-competitive markets on the supply side. The aim of this paper is to assume a monopoly market for the supply of agricultural insurances and to highlight the effects of public subsidies under this hypothesis. In a monopoly context farmers are less willing to pay for an insurance and government intervention seems to flaw.
