276This paper starts explaining the concept of «everyday creativity» as a pervasive property of routine language practice, and not only as a special skill of gifted subjects. The aim is to introduce a «creativity model» helpful for teaching of first language. First of all, recent works on creativity theory deduced from major journals («Journal of Creative Behavior», «Creativity Research Journal» and «Thinking Skills and Creativity») and the eminent studies of Guilford, Runco, Johnson-Laird and others psychologists are examined. The creativity representation advanced is a 6-mental-operations model, based on the concepts of synthesis, analysis, metaphor, reconfiguration of ideas (or elements of ideas). Finally creativity is described like an intentional act in terms of John Searle's intentionality theory, i.e. the intentional orienting of cognitive faculties on problem solving.
