The article focuses on the impact of smart working on housing choices and, consequently, on the development of territories. Are there new perspectives for social geography? After examining new challenges of remote-work from the point of view of the organisation, the author analyses the phenomenon from the point of view of territories and, above all, of services required by the new demographic scenario. Finally, the article analyses this transformation from the point of view of communities. If the end of the pandemic emergency will confirm a certain diffusion of remote work, it will be possible to redraw those demographic balances that seemed indefinitely compromised
