The internal and rural areas, for a long time considered marginal under the socio-economic profile and characterized by a prevalent agricultural vocation, present a considerable load of tangible and intangible resources, variously distributed. Recently they have been ended up in the center of important retraining strategies which see valid allies for the enhancement of its cultural heritage in the sustainable rural tourism and in the new ICT. After examining the phenomenon, this paper analyzes the case of “Autunno in Barbagia”, an established strategic promotion experience of environmental, cultural and enogastronomic resources of a structurally weak territory.
