After the liberation of France, some partisans were legally prosecuted for facts related to Resistance and perceived as criminal acts by law. Analysing a wide range of sources, this article surveys the trials of the French partisans in the aftermath of World War II. Especially, it discusses the French Communist Party's actions and responses to these trials. After introducing the context and the chronological development of this phenomenon, the article traces the shifts in the French Communist Party's attitude and the different strategies it adopted. Specifically, the author analyses the different developments in the connections between Pcf and partisans from the post-war period to the fifties.
