141This essay is focused on the relationship between national collective agreements and reconciliation of work and family life. Collective bargaining doesn't manage to promote reconciliation in an important way compared with the national legislation already does. Particularly, collective agreements don't go over quoting national rules of law about parental leave and job on call / job sharing contracts. And when social partners try to improve telework as an instrument of reconciliation of work and family life, it seems that they undervalue risks of segregation of women on labour market. Only when social partners regulate part-time work, they succeed to promote reconciliation: in fact, under particular exigencies of reconciliation of work and family life, workers can refuse variations in their own working-time or can obtain a priority in transformation from full-time work to part-time job (also for only fixed-termed periods).
