Abstract

Most companies, mainly due to the advent of COVID-19, introduced smart working in a reactive manner due to the historical period the whole world was experiencing and to avoid the health crisis hitting the company and undermining its future. Therefore, having to adapt quickly to a practice that was unfamiliar to many, it was implemented improperly to the extent that it failed to achieve all the expected benefits. Currently, we are going through a period of transition and it is not clear what the future of work will be. For this reason, the research thesis will try to identify the potentiality of this phenomenon and to analyse it as a strategy to innovate and not to survive. Therefore, the study of the change management process of a company that implemented the practice before the pandemic for strategic reasons, achieving considerable results, will be proposed. Nevertheless, through a past analysis to understand if a COVID-free society has potentialities, a current one to highlight how the ongoing pandemic is changing the needs of both the market and people, the thesis will try to highlight how work organization may evolve in the future.
