In Sartre's "Cahiers pour une morale" the category of Desire ("Begierde") is built through a critical dialogue with Hegel's "Phänomenologie des Geistes" devoted to the same theme. An analysis of Sartre's account of Desire allows, on the one hand, to gather some elements for a general comparison between Sartre's and Hegel's philosophies and, on the other, for an investigation of the problematic core of the unfinished "Cahiers" - how it is possible to conceive moral relations between human beings within the ontology of "L'être e le néant". Moreover, through this work of analysis it is possible to reconstruct the conception elaborated by Sartre of the variety of historical worlds and of the possibility for human societies to go through them.
