Replying to the criticisms raised by Enrico Diciotti and Giorgio Pino, theauthor assesses his views concerning: first, the distinction between "in abstracto" (text-oriented)and "in concreto" (fact-oriented) interpretation; second, the distinction between cognitiveand adjudicative interpretation; third, the distinction between interpretation strictlyunderstood and legal construction, as well as the resulting divide between expressed andunexpressed norms.
