The essay analyses the relationship among subjectivity, rights and law in Habermas' thought on modernity, conceived as a fluid structure of normativity and social praxis. According to Habermas, subjectivity represents the specific modern declination of the notion of "human nature". In this perspective, the "quality of life" is expressed, first of all, by the constant and conscious construction/preservation of the "subject-in-relation".
