This essay, in the title, alludes to the figure of the "motorized legislator " (Carl Schmitt) and aims at analyzing the relationship between contingency and politics. After a brief reconstruction of the main philosophical interpretations of the concept of contingency, the author investigates two very important contemporary phenomena: acceleration and trespassing. The first indicates the unsettling of the relationships between time and politics, the second hints at the necessity to rethink the classical categories of political space. The author affirms that biopolitical thinking might consipicuously contribute to this type of analysis, if it is true that life is, "par excellence", the means of contingency.
