484The author discusses Leo Strauss's thought beginning from the texts edited in "Gerusalemme e Atene" (Torino, Einaudi, 1998) and, particularly, from R. Esposito's "Introduction". In these texts, the theme of 'reticence' issued from as a particular way to understand the relationship between philosophy and politics. So, the tyrant Ieron, a character that Strauss discusses with Kojève by means of the concepts of tyranny and wisdom, becomes the symbol of the tragical position of modern political science, that is compelled to avoid the judgements of value (as contrasted to classic political philosophy).
