Titolo: Universalismo come pluralità delle vie
Periodico: Filosofia politica
Anno: 1998 - Volume: 12 - Fascicolo: 3 - Pagina iniziale: 455 - Pagina finale: 470

The author gives some answers to the end of the universal claim of Christianity, showing the "characteristic universalism" which different traditions of modern European culture refer to: the religious humanism of 15th and 16th Centuries, the radical Christianity between 17th and 18th Century, the freemasonry, the theological liberalism, the American trascendentalism, Tolstoj's Christianity, the Freud of "Moses and monotheism", Simone Weil, Albert Schweitzer and the Declaration of human rights. The author suggests a model of "spiritual way" founded on the analysis of ancient non-European sources, beloging to the Hellenistic-Christian horizon. Finally, the author considers Pico's model of philosophic pluralistic universalism.
