This article deals with a recent agreement (in the form of a Letter of Intent) between Denmark and Kosovo, whereby prisoners from the former would be detained in a prison situated in the latter’s territory. Even though detailed information and documentation is still unavailable (partly due to the fact that the LoI was only concluded last December) the author examines with a critical eye the legal and political implications of the arrangement. She compares the arrangement with other existing conventions on the transfer of detainees and she addresses the legal issues stemming from the compatibility of the arrangement with human rights standards enshrined in international instruments applying to both countries
