The essay aims at drawing a trajectory of argument linking the events of yesterday with the current ones, analysing the relationship that exists between corporatism neo-corporatism and concertation, to arrive at the recent models such as social dialogue. Furthermore, the essay intends to highlight the relationship between the experiences of concertation, the different organizations of interests and the trilateral agreements stipulated with the government about the reforms to be actualized. At the same time, this reflection would be a starting point for a deeper study on the issue, in the light of the basic consideration that concertation is one of the most effective tools for social equilibrium in policies of public spending containment and of financial "austerity".
