The impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic has had disruptive repercussions in people’s lives and in particular for those categories of subjects already affected by a condition of marginalization and social exclusion such as that of childhood exacerbated by the impoverishment of educational and development opportunities that this forced enclosure has caused. It is recognized that in Italy the problem of educational poverty has significantly worsened since the historical shortcomings of our school and educational system have been added to the contingent difficulties. The national government has dedicated a space to the theme of educational poverty in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Nrrp). Our contribution will try to provide a focus on the issues of childhood and educational poverty and how these are present within the Nrrp; adopting New Paradigm of Childhood Sociology and capabilities approach, we will try to bring out how much there is still a distance between public policies and scientific research in order to these issues.
