Despite the most recent scientific literature endorses a "global" dimension of law and the cut of the traditional link between law and territory, the paper aims at underlining how this link is paradoxically still strong in the field of human rights. The "judicial fragmentation" will be used as a key concept to stress the relevance of the territorial (specifically regional) dimension of human rights. Finally the paper uses the case study of LGBT rights to highlight the increasing gap in the full recognition of human rights due to the presence (or the absence) of regional human rights mechanisms.
