The isomorphism between natural and artificial selection sanctioned by Charles Darwin, paved the way towards a possible formulation of life in «artificial» terms. In this article we'll start from the distance existing between the views of Darwin and Wallace about the convertibility of artificial and natural selection, and we will try to explain why the Darwinian evolutionary theory, regarded as the origin of many revolutions, has to be considered above all as a theoretical basis for a significant epistemological artificialization of the living entities/systems.
