This essay deals with productive relocations and industrial relations, being Fiat the most representative example thereof. Globalization allows geographically mobile enterprises to use delocalization as a threat for trade unions and thus, to impose its choices, while constructing their negotiation relationship. This new entrepreneurship power is really difficult to control or to condition because it is supported by the disappearance of national economic borders and the weakness of national states in regulating global economic processes. The Fiat case, one among many similar cases in Europe, shows that nowadays an enterprise of that kind is able to modify even the collective labour relation system through the decentralization of agreements and at the same time prejudicing consolidated social rights.
