The paper describes how the British company Chemplane LTD has improved its level of service offered to customers through the revision of its Supply Chain Design; it has introduced a warehouse within its distribution chain for the adoption of a Push logic that satisfies the timely requests from customers for its finished products. Initially, there is an introduction to the Supply Chain Strategy in the context of design decisions and management decisions; then there are described the main factors that allow the achievement of the strategic fit, the synchronization between Supply Chain and S&OP and the different types of planning inherent to: demand, inventory, distribution, production and procurement. Furthermore, in the thesis, there will be a theoretical description of the Pareto rule and the Push and Pull strategies adopted in the Supply Chain. In the third chapter, the problems of Chemplane LTD will be addressed starting from the description of the company, analyzing specifically the characteristics of the products they handle and the customers who purchase their supplies; an analysis of the current level of service offered by the company and a product delivery route analysis will be carried out in order to then trace the path of the products and carry out assessments of the costs and times required to reach the main customer from Chemplane LTD. The fourth chapter describes the object of the project. In the fifth chapter of the thesis, an evaluation is faced to establish where to position the new warehouse of Chemplane LTD and the decision of who will be the service provider of the new warehouse managed by third parties. At the end of the fifth chapter, there is the introduction of a demand forecasting system that allows establishing the quantities of the finished product to be kept in stock monthly to reduce the fixed capital, in this case, the Holt-Winters model chosen on the basis of the historical demand series held; finally, there is an analysis of the costs/benefits that this choice will entail for the company. Inizialmente vi è un’introduzione alla Supply Chain Strategy nell’ambito delle design decisions and management decisions; successivamente vi sono descritti i fattori principali che permettono il raggiungimento della strategic fit, la sincronizzazione tra Supply Chain and S&OP e i diversi tipi di pianificazione inerenti a: domanda, inventario, distribuzione, produzione e approvvigionamento. Inoltre nella tesi vi sarà una descrizione teorica della regola di Pareto e delle strategie Push e Pull adottate nella Supply Chain. Nel terzo capitolo saranno affrontati i problemi della Chemplane LTD partendo dalla descrizione dell’azienda, analizzando nello specifico le caratteristiche dei prodotti che trattano e i clienti che si riforniscono presso di loro; verrà effettuata una analisi dell’attuale livello di servizio offerto dall’azienda e un’analisi della product delivery route per tracciare il cammino dei prodotti ed effettuare valutazioni dei costi e dei tempi necessari nel raggiungere il principale cliente dalla Chemplane LTD. Il quarto capitolo descrive l’oggetto del progetto. Nel quinto capitolo della tesi viene affrontata una valutazione atta a stabilire dove posizionare il nuovo magazzino della Chemplane LTD e la decisione di chi sarà il service provider del nuovo magazzino gestito da terzi. Alla fine del quinto capitolo vi è l’introduzione di un sistema di previsione della domanda che permette di stabilire i quantitativi di prodotto finito da mantenere a scorta mensilmente per ridurre il capitale immobilizzato, nella fattispecie viene utilizzato il modello Holt-Winters scelto sulla base delle serie storiche di domanda possedute; in fine vi è un’analisi dei costi/benefici che questa scelta comporterà per l’azienda.
