Abstract

This Tesis shows the real life experience I have had during my internship in Monteferro, one of the most important worldwide providers of guide rails and hoistway systems. It is divided in two sections, where the first one talks about Monteferro as a S.P.A and the work plan I had execute in the company; and the second section is an insigh of two of the most important activities performed for the society, framework of purchasing policy and two post-analysis tools (FMEA&FRACAS). I had to follow the prototyping of a new line of product planned by the most important Monteferro’s client, which consisted in the analysis of the best way to produce it with the lowest possible cost. During the project diverse areas had been treated. We started with the design optimization, contacted the suppliers to organize the production process, performed a cost analysis, make or buy decision, quality control and finally used to post-analysis tools in order to find and avoid future problems. In the second section it has been analyzed a framework policy for the purchasing, as it was one the areas where it became possible to improve our work for the company. It is also compared the theory of a framework purchasing policy to the method used in Monteferro. Later on, it has been examine a critical area of the project, the post-analysis tools. I have first make an insight of the theory of both tools, with a sort of framework policy. Finally it became possible to compare the work done in the company with the theory analyzed before. After these points, it was time to begin with the real production and get deeper to improve and correct the new failures. But unfortunately, I had not time to follow the project until the end.
